Well Christmas is definitely coming! The lights are up at the Municipality and the halls are adorned with little Christmas whoozits and whatzits. As the contagious Christmas spirit overcame me I took to decorating my place a little bit. I didn’t go crazy by any means but I do have lights and a small tree and what you see here is the top of my desk. It made me feel warm and fuzzy inside putting all this stuff up to tell you the truth. I think it was my first time to actually decorate for Christmas. I never did it in college because we always went home and then once home my little sisters were in charge or my parents took care of things.

I have discovered the utter satisfaction of purchasing something that serves no tangible purpose that will only be used for a month out of the year and I think I finally understand the 8 million boxes of Christmas decorations we had in the attic as a kid. I think I have starting something within me that cannot be quieted so Holiday seasons here I come!

On a side not I would like to draw your attention to the right side of the picture. The card that reads “Life without you sucks” was easily the highlight of my week last week and is contending fiercely for the highlight of the month. Actually I am going to go ahead and say it has highlight of the month. I would like to say thank you to Miss. Caitlan Easterling for her fantastic card making skills and for the joy and smiles she has brought to my life. I would also like to commend you for finding I am pretty sure the only picture of me with a no sleeve shirt on looking dirty as ever to paste on the front. Your love is ever so evident!

  • Mother Christmas came in the form of packages via the USPS from my mom! Granted the wrapped goodies are for the most part jars of food and packets of pasta, but a present is a present in my book!

Mom you will be happy to know that I am actually waiting to open my presents as they are all still intact and waiting under the tree!

This little tree was given to me by my friends I work with. Some might say it is a depressing attempt at Christmas decorations, and they would be correct for the most part, but I find it warm and inviting and it gives my room just enough holiday spirit!

  • I am learning to play the piano!

Notice the intense look of concentration. It is freaking hard!

I can read music now though. O the things you learn in the Peace Corps!
